This article by Abi Awomosu provides an analogy between AI agents and female domestic labour that has long been unpaid, unrecognized, and undervalued. The entire article is compelling and the opportunity Awomosu identifies is notable. I was particularly moved by this:

You built the wife function in software. You called it revolutionary. We’ve been doing this for free since the beginning of civilization. We know what it is. We know what it costs. And now we have a choice.

Women don't need AI training. They need recognition — they've been running this operating system since civilization began.

I enjoy following Tressie McMillan Cottom for her reasoned perspective, thoughtful narratives, and humour. I find myself constantly nodding in agreement and appreciate her ability to reply with kindness and moral strength. This is an example of one of her many considered threads.

The site Abortion, Every Day, by Jessica Valenti, is dedicated to abortion rights in the United States. It emphasizes important stories of feminism and abortion rights that the mainstream media don’t or won’t write about. Through daily articles, it celebrates female strength and adversity while also highlighting how women’s health care is being undermined and revoked in the United States. The GOP’s Plan to Ban Birth Control (Part I) and The Unstoppable Alysa Liu are just two of the site’s heartfelt works. Jessica quite rightly rings the alarm on the about page:

Since Roe was overturned, … what we do now will determine what our granddaughters’ lives—and the lives of their children—look like. We can’t afford to be overwhelmed or confused. We can’t watch as women’s experiences, their very lives, are written off as post-Roe statistics.
